The law is pretty specific as noted previously about the reasons for inspection and idle curiosity is not one of them. What does your lease say? Probably some wording allowing the showing to prospective tenants, buyers, mortgage brokers, code compliance etc. Bet it doesn't say to inspect appliances! Too many inspections over time could be considered harassment and against the "quiet enjoyment" covenant that all renting tenants are protected by. A housing judge would find in your favor if the LL was "inspecting" too much. A practicing tenant lawyer would have a better idea of what "too much" would be.
Tell him to call you next week and put him off again next week or not, up to you.

Does it matter that this is a coop and he owns my particular unit?

The law was made to protect all residential tenants from harassment from nosy landlords. The law says he has to give you 24 hour notice but it doesn't say you have to let him in every time he calls. The burden is on him not you. It is not convenient, period. Yes he can sputter and threaten and ultimately you'll have to let him in but not this week, maybe not next week or next month. You should read your lease. Given what you've said earlier I suspect the LL has already violated the terms.
Since you don't plan on staying you have nothing to lose playing hardball with him. It would be expensive and time consuming to bring a proceeding against you that would be dismissed with no further consequences as soon as you let him inspect.
You should know this (maybe you don't). There is absolutely no circumstance where he could force his way in without going to court waiting for months serving you with notices etc. and ultimately if you comply with the court order the whole thing goes away.

I went back and read your original post. Weekly??? I manage mostly commercial properties and some residential and honestly out of 25 years of doing this, 3 or 4 building at any given time I can count on one hand where I "officially" requested on behalf of the LL to inspect the premises. Those were usually ground floor commercial stores after extensive build outs involving structural changes. The residential? Zero times. No one wants to be an ******* but this LL really needs to understand that this is likely harassment. You might want a tenant lawyer to knock out a letter to that effect (affect?).
