Anybody planning to take the day off today because of the snow?? Still debating whether I should go in (live in SE Queens work in Manhattan)...even tho I'll probably end up going in anyway...btw, it's like 10-12 inches out here right now, but it looks like the snow stopped.

Here are some pics...these were taken about a 1/2 hour ago from my porch...

NYC public schools are open today. So I would assume one is expected to go into work as normal.

Here in Midwood, Brooklyn, it doesn't look nearly as bad as the weather bureau had been reporting. Six or seven inches at most. And I heard a forecast for rain this weekend.

Yea I decided to go to work....but now I feel like a dummy because I am literally the only guy from my department here today. I knew I should've stayed my butt home...but to be honest....the snow wasn't that bad today...sighs...oh well!

Out here (LI), they had announced all the school closings last night (before 8pm) so I couldn't go to work. It was snowing heavily pretty much all night but it doesn't look so bad. I heard the plows going by a few times.

When I got up this morning, it didn't really look too bad. The main roads were pretty clear. The side streets weren't touched.
