I have a friend who has lived in a Peter Cooper Village apt. for many years, her apt. is rent stabilized. If she were offered a buy out, what amount could she expect to be offered?

Is there a way for her to know if their offer is reasonable?

Thank you.

You should probably post this in a real estate thread or ask a re lawyer. You will get nothing but speculation here. The Peter Cooper Village /Stuy Town situation is such a tangled mess I don't even know who you would be thinking of getting bought out by.Not sure anyone is in a position to buy anyone out of anything.Who cahes your "friend's" rent check ? A bankruptcy court ?

You're not going to get any offers on any rent stabilized places in StuyTown/PCV. The property is owned by the bank now that Tishman defaulted on the mortgage. Even if Tishman still owned the property, it's highly unlikely they would buy people out of rent stabilized apartments.
