Hi!

I'm looking to move and I found a great unit with 3 bedroom for my husband and I! I'm super excited about it BUT I am a little concerned about safety. I am Latina, darker complexion and my husband is an Israeli man...although my husband and I are 100% fluent in spanish - I was assulted in Jersey City and well am not to keen on "up-and-coming areas" anymore. My husband actually feels more comfortable being in urban areas then me (he is extremely fearless after having spent 5 years in the IDF, hehe). Anyhow, how safe is it for me to walk from and to the train station on 103? I have an at home business so my schedule varies and sometimes I dont get home til late.

Would you recomend it?

Default what with gentrification

and the fact that 101 street is still close to 96th street(border of the UES), I can't see how the area could be that bad

maybe sketchier than 10 blocks down, but probably better than 10 blocks up

Is it Aspen or River Crossing you are looking for?

From my experience 101 and 1st is not a bad area, there have been a lot of new developments in the area which have helped to make it safer, I think that you should always be extra cautious as a woman if you are traveling alone late at night, but the train would only be three blocks and 3 aves away so you should be alright...
