I love those lion cubs! They are so cute!

One time when I went, the tiger was pretty cool. She was circling around, getting closer and closer to the window and then came right up to the window and just looked at me! She probably thought I was lunch! LOL!! The last time I went, I made sure to get there for the tiger enrichment and it was really interesting to watch. (get there early, because it gets PACKED and you won't be able to see anything!)

What kind of animals are you expecting to see at a zoo? The Bronx Zoo has lions, tigers, bears, giraffes, polar bears, elephants, zebras, farm animals, rhinos, etc etc etc. Not sure what you're looking for?

I am not sure what it is. Maybe I want to see some rare cats. rare birds etc.

I am more impressed at the Aquarium in BK.

Not saying the place is bad, just expects more.

There's a place in FL called "Big Cat Rescue" -- not sure if they have rare cats. There's another place in CO that has big cats --- though, again, not sure if they have any rare cats.

Did you go to the Bird House at the Bx Zoo?

The Aquarium is a lot of fun. I loved the sea lion show.

Check out the Bronx Zoo site and see if they have rare cats. I'm pretty sure they have a big variety. When I was there last, I saw the Snow Leopard, Lions, Tigers, and a Black Leopard. I'm pretty sure they have cheetahs, jaguar, etc. www.bronxzoo.com

There are plenty of rare birds in the World of Birds exhibit. Snow Leopards are highly endangered. The Broxn Zoo has the largest and best preservation program for these animals in the US. Did you see the Okapi? Not many places to see them in the US. Did you see the Asian tapir? Another hard animal to see in the US. Plenty of rare large mammals at the Bronx Zoo if you know what you are looking at. Sign up for one of the adult or children education classes at one of the zoos to learn more.

There's the Queens Zoo and then, in Brooklyn, there's the Prospect Park Zoo. They are part of the Wildlife Conservations Society as well.

The snow leopards are so, so beautiful!

The first time I saw the Okapi, it reminded me of that Coach handbag that was popular a few years ago --- the one that had all different fabrics? That is one amazing-looking animal!

The Tapir was also something else! I had no idea what it was.

That's what I love about the zoo --- you learn so much and see animals that you never even knew existed.

Did you see the black leopard when you were in Jungle World?
