I normally would not recommend the Meatpacking District, but the nice thing about brunch at Pastis or the Standard Hotel, is that you can then go up to the High Line Park and walk your brunch off.

Alternatively, you could go to Chelsea and have brunch at, what's this place, Canteen? You could then walk down the High Line to its southern endpoint.

There are thousands. You should narrow it down by neighborhood. Yelp.com is a good way to read reviews.

clinton street bakery is pretty amazing...

worth the long waits in my opinion. But if you are going on a weekday, there is usually no wait.

That's a really hard question to answer because NYC has so many good choices. A good website to help narrow down choices is New York City Restaurants, New York City Menus, Ratings, Reviews, NYC Restaurants Guide

Go to the Chowhound site, and do a search for "brunch."
