at around 2pm, and around midnight, any info would be great on that surrounding area, by the east ferry landing, and midtown heliport?

It is not a bad area- even at night-- but probably sort of deserted along the highway at 2 am

It doesn't seem to be unsafe area, but there isn't much going on there along the 1st Ave, also close to the Tunnel and not as pleasant to walk around there. There is a park around there on 1st (I think called Vartan park), used by kids/nannies during the day, but don't know what it would be like at night. There are many high-rise buildings there that must offer amazing views. 2nd ave and 3rd ave have lots of restaurants and bars, etc, so should be busy enough with post-college kids. Walking around that area during the day it didn't feel unsafe to us at all, but barely any people on the sidewalks.
