need to move to a place that is cheaper and has viable public transportation. also, my medical situation would be better in a colder climate. right now i only have SSI to live on till voc rehab takes affect.
There are other places closer to Hawaii that have viable public transportation, cheaper cost of living, and colder climate. Hawaii to NYC will be an expensive move.
I can't think of anywhere in the United States where you can live on 500 a month if that's *all* you have.
I would try to take advantage of any housing assistance in Hawaii and stay there until you recover and can work. It will be infinitely worse for you here in NYC in your current state. If you have to be homeless, better to be homeless in a year round warm environment I would think.

The rent in Cleveland is even $480 and it doesn't get any cheaper than that. I find it hard to believe you live for $500 a month in hawaii with the cost of groceries where it is there.
Lol. Maybe it's Better in PA or Jersey!! Rooms are 500 monthly and most of them are in Harlem. So If youre issue is about health, save you're little money and ask to transfer you're SSI case to NYC. But i can tell you that my Mom came from PR for medical reasons but to Newark and she already have her apt , and off course her benefits. Is up to you where you want to live, but try it. Have in mind that 500 in NYC is for a bedroom, and if you are complaining about hawaii on drugs, well the bad news is going to follow you.
