I'm looking too.
I used to know of a place in Hudson County that had terrific prices but their dusty shop/factory got gentrified out years ago.
There was aVERY popular multi story warehouse that sold to the public on 13th St. East of Sixth Avenue with CHEAP, made to order marble and granite that was increddible , but the same thing happened to them...POOF.
There's still granite places in the ungentrified areas of J.C. (particularly along and near Tonnele Ave).
I don't know about cheap cabinets. If you want really cheap cabinets you probably don't want anything made anywhere around here, but rather factory-made stuff. IKEA has some if you like their style.
I'm looking to finish a kitchen and I actually need someone to do the installation as well. I'm not really looking for cheap materials, but decent stuff for reasonable prices.
I heard about this place in Elmsford from a friend who owns a couple of rental properties since they were replacing kitchens in a couple of the units, but opted for Corian as opposed to granite.
I would think that one of the home improvement chains might have inexpensive cabinets in stock, or easily customized. Ikea even has cabinets, the kind that you build yourself, which are also the lower-end offering at Home Depot, not the same cabinets, but ship in flat packs. If you are just replacing existing cabinetry, that can work, but if you want to redesign the kitchen, I'd look toward a kitchen designer, perhaps an independent one not associated with a particular manufacturer/showroom, so that you would have expert assistance as I don't know about the training of those who work in the big box stores. My friend used Lowe's, but had their own contractor do the work, not through the store, so I don't know about the installation from the store.
