I am going to see the stature of liberty tomorrow. Will drive from long island to Manhattan. Is it easy to find a free street parking on Sunday morning, say 9am? Many thanks.

I'm far from an expert but I know one possible option could be driving to SI and taking the ferry over. I know terminal parking only cost about 6-7 dollars for all day. I know you'd need to pay bridge tolls but I have a feeling parking anywhere around there (lower Manhattan) would be expensive.

Wouldn't make sense to drive to SI to catch a ferry to Manhattan to catch a ferry to Liberty Island. I have no idea about parking in Lower Manhattan, but last time I drove in on a Sunday morning I was surprised to find plenty of parking in Chelsea; you could grab the 1 from there.

From Long Island? The cost in tolls and time to SI doesn't make sense. But yea, you should be able to find street parking in or near downtown with a bit of patience. Look for a side street with few shops. Traffic downtown will be low...

I nabbed a spot by a city office building downtown Friday night.
