Is there a "university village" in Manhattan or Brooklyn for 20-30 somethings going to undergrad/grad/law school?

Some background: I'm likely going to be moving from California to NY to finish my BA (thanks California politicians for screwing our budget and our University admissions rules for adult re-entry students) at Hunter College. In moving out there, I'd want to be in a section where there are a decent population of adult students and/or 20-30 something professionals (just for the relative peace and quiet, as well as having some peers close in age and status).

Are there neighborhoods (or programs like that) in Manhattan or the western side of Brooklyn?

You need to do some serious homework, as you appear clueless as to what NYC is all about.

Maybe you can just got to craigslist: dallas / fort worth classifieds for jobs, apartments, personals, for sale, services, community, and events and find a outlet or sublet apartment agreement?
OR just go to Housing Options - Undergraduate Admissions - CUNY AND apply for student housing. There are no "villages" since it is very urban. But you can score some cheaper apartment options when you go to Brooklyn in an apartment or in a sublet part of a house. And, its NEVER quiet in NYC...so you can give up that pipe dream.

And you could remember the rule your mother gave you about not having anything nice to say.

As far as my inquiry, I found my answer already.
