I am moving to the area in August and have been hitting a brick wall because of my dogs. I was told by my friends here that having them might mean my options would be limited and I should expect to pay more, but the fact they are pits seems to be an issue even at places that allow pets.
Any advice? And of the boroughs and New Jersey border towns are any more "pit friendly" than others?
I see people walking pits all over the city. It's not a "tough neighborhood" only thing. I saw more pits in my old nabe of Pelham Parkway than I do where I live now in Bed Stuy. Although it is true some buildings have breed restrictions (actually it's more often a weight restriction) the problem isn't the breed per say, it's that you have FOUR of them. Finding a landlord that will take one dog can be a challenge, but four dogs...
