Anyone know where you'd park if you want to go to the Statue of Liberty? I'm asking because when my mother in law comes to visit us she wants to go to the Statue of Liberty and I found this Groupon for a parking garage in NYC for different locations. We want to get it but are not sure if the locations for the parking would be good for going to the SoL. It's for Icon Parking and they have locations all throughout NYC.

Icon Parking

Those are the locations we could use the Groupon at. If anyone knows off hand if any of them are close to the SoL I would appreciate the help. Thank you.

I would say Liberty State Park on the Jersey side. There is lots of free parking...or I think it is free, and there is a ferry that runs to the statue and is much easier to get through cause there is little to no waiting.

I think the closest ones would be South William and Hanover Square. It looks like some are near Battery Park City and it might be a longer walk. Do you really need to drive? If you're going on the weekend it might be worth it. But really I would just take the train to Bowling Green. It gets you much closer than the parking garages and if mobility is an issue there is an elevator there (that usually works). If you are going during the week call those garages first and make sure there will be availability because most of the ones in the area of the 2 I mentioned fill up.

The reason we are driving is my Mother In Law is paying for everything since it's his birthday (and quite honestly I just lost my job so I'm tight on money) and it'd be cheaper to drive instead of her paying for 3 roundtrip train tickets. Plus we'd be going straight after I pick her up from LGA airport so we'd already have my car.

If you're coming from out of the city maybe Liberty Park would be your best bet. But if it's the weekend you're probably fine driving in and parking at one of those lots.

Sorry about your job loss.
