In general, New Yorkers of which ancestry tend to retain the New York accent the most/tend to speak it the strongest? I've heard there are different 'versions', like Jewish/Italian, but to an outside they sound similar enough. I didn't hear it much in Manhattan at all, I heard a few strong examples. I noticed Hispanics/Latinos often seemed to have what sounded like quite a strong NY accent. By blacks I'm talking features of a NY accent not AA.
This poll is flawed. Hispanics include 25 different ethnic groups...Mexicans do not have a NY accent b/c they are too new...but PRs do. You have to pick an Hispanic group, and not just "Hispanics." You singled out Jews, Italians, and Irish, but simply lumped all Hispanics together...why?

Because NYC has Hispanics from many countries, PR, Dominican Republic, Cuba, Mexico, Central America, South America, I'm not going to list each nationality.

By far the biggest hispanic communities consist of Caribbeans ( Puerto Ricans & Dominicans.)
The rest are not as nearly as large as those.
Then you cannot include Hispanics..that's like saying "Whites"...there are too many ethnic groups that make them up. In order to be consistent and for you poll to have merit, you should include (as you did with "Whites") the LARGEST members of the Hispanic group, which would be Puerto Rican and Dominican. Theoretically you should really exclude Dominicans because they are still relatively new in comparison to PRs.
As of right now, nobody can answer your poll because "Hispanics" has no meaning anymore than saying "Whites." Either eliminate Jews/Italians/Irish, and make the poll White/Hispanic/Black, or eliminate Hispanic and replace with Puerto Rican.
Lol I kinda agree. The NY accent is just really hit or miss in my opinion. There are tons of native NYers who have it and tons of native NYers who don't.
