No. And the people you see doing it are taking a big risk. Only the commuter trains like the LIRR would usually allow it, but not sure if they still do.

No you can't! Back in the day you could get away with it but today it's all about the revenue. If caught, like D. Scott said, you will get a summons and I suspect you'll be fined. Good luck.

LIRR has a "trial" ban on alcoholic beverages on Fridays and Saturdays from 12 midnight until 5:00 a.m.

Its perfectly fine, when you're done drinking your alcohol make sure you pull your pants down and take the biggest dump on the floor as well
