Last night a friend came over, took him like 2 hrs from Brooklyn. It was getting late, so I wanted to give him a ride. However, I made the silly mistake of letting the gas tank in my car go almost empty. I should've known better, especially after a storm.
We went around LIC/Astoria and 1/4 of gas stations were closed, and the ones open, had ridiculous
lines. My estimate was a 1 1/2 hr wait on the best ones.
I haven't seen anything of this on the news. Not that I'm really surprised, most NYers don't drive,
so it's a not as important as the subways, but for those of you who drive, did you notice this also?
im lucky my tank is full but a co worker just told me of a fight at a gas station at E 233rd street in The Bronx. I returned to my area to find 2 gas stations out of gas with cops sitting in the lots. any idea how long this will last?

I prepared by buying lots of canned food, water and other essentials but forgot about filling up.
Last night actually looked better than today.
There's very few gas stations selling the stuff. I really hope it gets better soon.
my car is suspended until next week. It will be public transportation for me or nothing. I sat in line twice for an hour yesterday, only to be told by a cop 'no more gas, go away.'
I'm on my last strip on the meter and my DTE (drive til empty) says I have 10 miles left. I expect to have gas possibly around late next week, maybe around Thursday or Friday.
