I'm downstate in the city this year for thanksgiving, and I've never gone to the parade. Sure, it's going to be crowded, but honestly I don't care about getting a GREAT spot, just want to watch what I can with the least hassle. With the new route, any suggestions on where I should go and when I should get there? (I am NOT camping overnight, but can get there early early AM if needed). Yes, it's silly, but I watched miracle on 34th street every year as a kid and I wanted to say I was there at least once. :P
No car (duh), but coming from bay ridge so will take me a while to get there. I have a list of posted street closings, but those only apply to cars, correct?

Kind of late for this but you don't have to camp out to get a good spot. Many people will get to their spot at 7am or so to get a good place to stand and watch.
My son and I were at Central Park South and 7th. Good view, but was disappointed that the parade ended at 11:15am!
