It is a huge influx of cash for the legal profession. So many lawyers and many are struggling. Glad that an attorney like DeBlasio can help start to funnel money back to the boys. Don't forget that 30% of this settlement will go to the rapist's attorney. Through the backdoor some will go to the right "charities" and the judge will see his piece as well. It is in he interest of the politicians -most are attorneys - and the judges to bleed the public and offer huge settlements from the taxpayers. New York is a noted bastion of municipal settlement hi-jinx with a cabal of judges, attorneys and politicians working in cahoots to bleed taxpayers.

With such a passive disengaged public how can anyone expect the attorneys to resist this financial bonanza?

City nor its officials admit no wrongdoing:

But Carter said the settlement "should not be construed as an acknowledgment that the convictions ... were the result of law enforcement misconduct."

But city taxpayers pay.

Hey this is great for them....100 years ago they would have been lynched. Now they get money.

Black Americans have come so far...why would they complain anymore?

you didn't have a problem paying all those police who falsely accused them,
so now you have to pay extra for their corruption. what goes around comes
around.

For those who are wrongly incarcerated no amount of money can make up for the time spent locked up.
