i have been hearing this several times. people calling nyc the greatest city in the world. i don't see what is so great about it. yeah, it probably has one of the best recreational activites but if your talking about quality of life then its a totally different story. The cost of living over is high its crazy and other things about it that i don't think makes it the greatest city in the world.
Honestly i don't think one city is the greatest city in the world. it all depends on what your looking for. Every city is set up diferently

HUH? You just answered your own question. And yes, IMO, NYC is a GREAT city, I think most can attest to that.

Well if you're going to say its not great because of its high cost, then what other cities would be greater?

All other major world cities (Tokyo, London, Paris, Hong Kong) are just as expensive to live in as NYC. I think apartments in London are actually more expensive than they are here in NYC. In Tokyo you can find cheaper apartments but the square footage will be ridiculously small (200-300 sq ft)

I don't think any one city is the best in all categories. It's a bogus title anywhere you place it.

The greatest city in the world for me is whatever city I live in. Because I am the center of my own universe.

NYC the greatest city in the world? I don't think so.

New Yorkers are notoriously loyal to their city. It's almost like they treat it as a person, like it is a friend or something. I think that is where the claim that it is the best city in the world comes from. Plus, there are so many New Yorkers to make that claim!

I don't live in NYC. I don't wanna live in NYC, but it's my favorite city. And I do think it's the greatest city in the world. People don't have to agree, but it means someone thing to me. I love the skyline, the people, the randomness, the culture, the food, the shopping, the excitement. I really do love NY in an emotional way.

I know, New York is overrated! It's very obnoxious when they have to rub in the "Greatest City" moniker. It's really "The Most Overrated City in the World."

Ha, you people crack me up. You're just jealous that your towns/cities are boring locales in the sunbelt.

Sure you guys might have better weather than us, but thats about it.
