And there's nothing "squeaky clean" about the ***** houses you can find in midtown either. This is the densest area in the country, and despite how sanitized it has become, there will always be filth, degredation, and skells. Even in 2014 billionaire's manhattan. That said, Roosevelt Ave is markedly more scummy than midtown...

Agreed. It's more blatantly than in Midtown.

As for the filth, degradation, and skells, everyplace has bad parts of town (even small towms) so yes, NYC will always have scum. They've got a long way to go to sanitize much of Brooklyn and the Bronx, and upper Manhattan (and parts of Queens).

In the last few years, since the previous post Jackson Heights has gentrified exponentially. The Historic District is now a fancy and pricey neighborhood. However, there remains diversity in other parts of Jackson Heights which makes it fascinating to live here.

It wasn't even a bad area in 2014, I went to the neighborhood then and loved it.

It's also funny seeing NYWriterdude do completely 180s from 2 years ago.
