I'm looking to move into a no-fee apartment for a year, as I'm not sure where I'll need to live after the first year. I found an apartment complex, The Cedars, a large apartment complex managed by Goldfarb properties, located in University Heights of the Bronx. I've heard its not the greatest area, but the apartments look very close to the subway across the bridge from Inwood. Area didn't seem too bad, from what I saw after visiting today. They are located on 2175 Cedar Ave.
Commute for me would only 20-25 minutes from this location, so not bad on that end.
How is the safety of the location? Not going to be venturing down any side streets or anything. Just want to make sure my GF and I will be safe traveling too and from the subway, and obviously little things like grocery shopping on W. Fordham road which is down the block.
