From the rest of the country, our thoughts are with New York on this day. Though it may be awhile back, those alive will not forget the attacks and the heroism displayed on this day. Thank you for all your bravery and resolve.

I feel like the ceremony is a little bit overkill.

I'm getting tired of it too.
But how many years was December 7 celebrated as "a day that will live in infamy," 40 or 50 years?

We used 9/11 as justification for 2 wars and the killing of at least a quarter million people. Perhaps enough is enough already.

Three hours of reading all the names is too much now.

I agree. As someone who was there that day, I, personally, just want to put it behind me. I am sure the families of the deceased might feel differently though.

Yeah, god forbid the people who lost loved ones that day take a few hours out of the year to hold a ceremony.

Some of you people make me sick...

The loved ones should commemorate the day any way they wish. Wall to wall TV and radio coverage in funereal voices on the 12th anniversary is too much. The coverage on the the 12th anniversary should not be identical to that on the 1st anniversary.

Yeah man, I mean it's imperative that you watch Anderson Cooper's gossip talk show during the middle of each day 5 days a week all year. There are some riveting and life changing topics that may alter your life if missed.

I fully understand some New Yorker's becoming somewhat overly tired of the anniversary events, it is however a tragedy that not only affected New York City residents, DC residents and Shanksville PA residents it also affected the entire country as well as the world.

Just as New Yorkers do not live in a bubble, neither does the rest of the country or the world.

What happened that fateful day affected me deeply and I lived in Helena Montana at the time.

The events taking place this morning across the NYC/NJ metro area are for each and every American and not just for those residing within the five boroughs of NYC or the Immediate NYC/NJ area.
The next time one feels inconvenienced and or annoyed by the events and the subsequent coverage please remember that this is for the entire country not just those that were affected in a more direct way.

May God bless and keep the souls lost that day.
