If the cashier sensed that something might be wrong with the transaction, why did they run the card through? Why not call over a manager to verify? I think the cops acted all on their own, and hang out in high class shopping stores to hopefully make these types of arrests.

Because the cashier doesn't want to get into a situation with a customer who might get irate. It's easier for them to push the transaction through and then call the cops.

If the cashier didn't call in the cops, how would the cops have known all the details down to the type of ID and card used? Like marilyn said--they must be clairvoyant.

Barneys should just ignore all this nonsense. Whats the worst that can happen...they lose the few and far between black customers. Im sure they wouldnt mind one bit.

RE:the young black 19 year old boy buying a 349 dollar belt, when they showed him on the news, they showed him entering an apartment door and the halls looked to me made of cinder blocks painted, which is usually what they have in the projects, did anyone else notice this?.
Oh, he probably lives with his parents and that is why he couls spend that amount of money on a belt. Of course if one of sons at 19 years old bought a belt for 349 dollars, I would have to beat him with it.......----------this was sarcastic humor, not child abuse.

now people can, and do spend 300 dollars on a belt, I however am not one of them.
