Toppings??....real pizza doesnt have toppings. Toppings are only for non-NY pizza that has no flavor. Great tasting pizza is made with sauce and cheese and thats it

Maybe...pepperoni when you really need a topping.

Rubes can keep their artichoke and pineapple toppings.

Garlic and extra cheese. Many pizzerias I've seen have skimmed on the cheese the past few years.

Other topings would either be bacon or anchovies, but not both at the same time.

Yeah I was tempted to give him rep points.

Toppings are the only way to eat some of the mediocre stuff passed as pizza but he's right, truly good pizza doesn't really need toppings.

Not saying it's the best but it's the one I am most likely to frequent if I get a pizza craving since it's near where I work in financial district. Pizza Italia makes an excellent grandma style pizza. They also make a pretty nice slice with an incredibly tasty vodka sauce.

Margarita style or garlic pepperoni and banana peppers. I'm not a "new yorker" as I moved here last year, but I love me some pizza!

I agree. Just sauce and grated cheese, or good quality fresh buffalo mozzarella. Not this pile of stringy gloppy goo.

We went to Pepe's in New Haven. All they serve is pizza and it's made ONLY this way. No toppings. Your only option is with or without grated cheese. No mozzarella.

Next trip to CT we're going to try Sally's which is a few blocks from Pepe's. They've been rivals for many years. We want to do a comparison taste test.
