Okay, so my daughter wants to go to a rock concert that's happening at a venue in Manhattan in February. I told her I'll do my best to get the tix when they go on sale and that my niece can take her.

Well, I check the ticket site --- it says 16 and over At the time of the concert, my daughter will be 15 1/2.

Do they actually check IDs at these concerts? What kind of ID is passable for something like this? She has her school ID and it only says her grade. There are kids who are already 16 in her grade but I'm thinking they may want something showing a date of birth. She can easily pass for 16 in her "rocker gear" but I don't want her getting to the concert and being turned away.

Does anyone have any experience with this?

I have played in rock bands my whole life and preformed at many venues around the city. I would say it depends on the venue and the promotors but for a 16+ show I wouldn't see much of an issue. I've actually never heard of that lol usually shows are 21+, 18+, or "all ages".

That's what I was thinking. I've never heard of "16 & over" before. 18 or 21, yes but never 16 and over.

I'm just concerned if they ask for ID. Would it make a big difference if I got on line with her when they are taking the tickets?

Man! When I was her age, we used to be able to get into any and everything. No one ever checked IDs !! But that was back in the late 1970s. Now, it's all different.
