This huge sporting event looms large over city. Maybe the largest sporting event in 10 years. Belmont is expecting 120,000 fans to be present. Very exciting event with over $8 million in purse money and horses are converging from all over the world to compete. The star of the show will be California Chrome.

I did watch the other two TC races. I'm not huge on horse racing, but Rosie, mmmmmmmboy.

I admit I am rather intrigued by the nose strip issue, and that NY has decided to allow it for C. Chrome despite their normal rule. I do think NY wants a TC winner badly.

They don't care if there's a winner, but they desperately what there to be the possibility. If California Chrome pulled out over the nasal strip issue, the attendance would be half what it would otherwise be.

In point of fact, the nasal strip thing seems to be a non-issue. The other two tracks allowed it. Any of the other trainers could use it for their horses. I just don't think it's all that common (yet - it may now become so.)

Default How could we miss this?

Will be there for sure. I have tickets - general admission is $10 if you don't have tickets.

Yes, I saw that and I might consider going if I am available and can find a convenient way to get there by public transportation.

Is that from the Jamaica train station and is the Belmont Park station a close walk to the racetrack?
