I laughed pretty hard at this! Reminds me of my friend, who kept getting mad that she couldn't find an apartment below 96th, over 600 sq ft that would take her 2 cats for $1500.

Many of them post here. A favorite phrase of mine that I see over and over is "I have seen apartments for $n in X neighborhood..." and then when you question what "I have seen" means, it ALWAYS means they have only seen online listings and half the time have never even stepped foot in NYC. Seeing an apartment and seeing a listing are two very different things!

As mentioned this forum is a good example of some of the delusion that comes out of people who don't actually know what's out there.

I have so many funny and horror stories from clients and landlords/management companies.

I had a client refuse an apt that was much bigger, brand new renovations and much cheaper than he was paying available on east 24st. The building was literally behind his current building on east 25st. His reason for not accepting it was "it's too far south" lol

Management company/landlord denied a client because she had 1 late payment in 2007 on her credit history. She offered to pay 2yrs up front of rent and had almost 2 million dollars in the bank. Landlord still denied because they only accept tenant with flawless/perfect credit history.

I have so many stories it's insane lol

I didn't watch the video. I know a lot of apartments do not allow pets. However, usually you can get away with having cats or other pets that do not need to be walked or make any noise. However, a lot of people have trouble keeping their place clean with pets and end up bringing down the quality of life for everyone else in the building. These people would have done the same if they lived in a house or their own condo. Their lack of hygiene standards means they shouldn't be living near anyone.
