So if you are asking why is the PR parade so large, its because, over the years, they have been able to successfully fundraise for the parade.

Maybe there are other large communities that have small parades because they don't really care about donating to a parade. Who cares about parades anyways?
curious, do the organizers pay for nyc police OT and the other public services?

You'll not see a Japanese, French or British parade. But all of those have sizeable populations in the NYC metro area.

National "pride" parades in the US tend to be most enthusiastically supported by those who feel the need to assert their "pride" especially those that have been marginalized or downtrodden in the past. A way of, momentarily at least, empowering the disempowered.

But who can complain about the PR parade? - with all those hot PR chicks.

Colombians have a big festival in Flushing meadows park in Queens. Not sure the date, it might have passed already.

Why does Puerto Rico get such a big parade?
Because politicians are hungry for their votes.

According to educational sources, Puerto Rico, had forced sterilization of the women ( similar to Zionist Israel ), and was one of the first places "In the US" to experiment with contraceptives. When the PRs went to war, they on purposely put them in the front lines...."Cannon Fodder", as the legend of them being "brave". So it is more like, lets sweep this "ancient time" genocide dictatorship bit under the rug parade, we cool we cool.
