125th St 2/3 Station Dangerous?
Hello,
Can anyone tell me whether transferring between the Metro-North (at 125th) and the 2/3 subway on 125th & Lenox is safe at night? It seems this may become a part of my wife's commute. We might consider having her go all the way down to penn station and then transfer back up to Upper West Side if it's risky to get off at the 125th stop at night. Any suggestions?

I'm a bit confused here. Where is she coming from and where is she going to? Metro North doesn't go to Penn Station, it stops on 125th and Park and then goes to Grand Central. And what time is "night"?

What time of day/night are we talking about? Where is she coming from/going to?

The walk between the 2/3 and the MetroNorth stop is sketchy after dark, but bus service is frequent. I would take the bus instead of walking. For some reason those few blocks have lots of boarded up businesses and are very desolate. The rest of 125th has lots of foot traffic and is fine.
But as the previous poster mentioned, the pieces of your question don't quite fit.

Huh???
If your wife is coming from the Grand Central to 125th on the Metro-North, then what, walk 3-4 long blocks to hop on the 2/3 to wherever doesn't make any sense.
Can't she just hop on the shuttle or the 7 train to Times Square then hop on the 2/3?

Clarification
Sorry, I meant she'd reroute through grand central. She'd be coming from upstate NY (via Metro North) and going home to Upper West Side. This would be during weekdays around 7-10pm. Thanks for the replies so far.
