Just saw this linked to on Twitter. It's a 2 bedroom apartment in midtown east with 22 beds (looks like 11 bunk beds) which are rented out on a short-term basis.

Wow. Insane. I truly hope someone figures out where this is (27th St and 3rd Ave) and pulls the plug on it. It HAS to be illegal in terms of occupancy, with 22 people in a 3 bedroom apartment (if that) with only 2 bathrooms. Also it probably breaks the hotel laws f the city.

I feel sorry for the upstairs/downstairs neighbors as well, who are probably paying $5000/mo for their own apartment only to have 22 out of town "guests" on a constant basis directly above them.

Btw, the video is "unlisted" which probably means they are only emailing the link out to specific people and are trying evade detection.

I'm sure they'll pull the video when they see it's making the rounds.

But yeah, this must violate any number of laws. You'd think that a doorman would catch on to this pretty quickly. Although you'd also think they'd notice someone moving in 11 bunk beds.

The bunkbeds are Ikea, so they would come in flat boxes. Anyone who is doing a major Ikea kitchen renovation would also have dozens of flat boxes as well, so that could have passed unnoticed.

At 2 bathrooms and 22 people I predict disaster striking when 3 or more people have a bathroom emergency at the same time. Not to mention those bathrooms would be in the condition of truck stop restroom by about 3pm every day.

ahahah, the balls on this guy!

those beds in the kitchen especially are so ridiculous (but possibly not illegal, since there's an "outdoor" window - although I think he would lose that argument in court)

I realize there's closets, but that's not enough for everyone's stuff

I think it's hilarious how that idiot keeps harping that you're going to meet amazing people lol
