About a few people who love living in Bushwick... Sounds like what Williamsburg was before it became so gentrify...

Quote:
So have a new breed of New Yorkers. A strong industrial corridor turned artist haven, the neighborhood has incredible graffiti, affordable rents and an emerging cultural scene. Old faithfuls like Roberta's offer organic pizza, culture, music and conversation in a garage space. The underground music scene is one of the best in the country, with apartment dwellers opening their homes for secret little shows.

What a joke. OMG ,those pictures! Is that article supposed to be for real or is it a spoof ? The photo of the guy in the ascot was too much. LMAO.
Some real estate people must be really, desperately trying to change the the reality of Bushwick into something sellable. There is just no end to this promotional nonsense in NY.
Streetcorner sages ? ROTFLMAO.
I lived in Williamsburg before and during the gentrification process and it sounded and looked nothing like this.

Why are they putting out these people's addresses for all to see? (Or more importantly, why do these people feel the need to have their address placed out on the Internet, for all to see?)

I find it interesting they found three people of color for these interviews. As if to say, "Hey, we told you gentrification is not a race thing!"

I also find it interesting that all of these articles have such a focus on bars, lounges, bars, organic cleaners, coffeeshops, bars, used bookstores, and oh yeah, did I mention bars?

Do you think we'll ever see an article like this?

Marsha moved to the neighborhood from Harrisburg, PA five years ago. Her oldest son, Gabriel, runs up and down along Vanderbilt Avenue with the other neighborhood kids. She supervises her children while chatting it up with Mrs. Coleman, who's lived in the neighborhood for 35 years. On the corner, young men gather to exchange greetings as well as jokes. This is the every day fabric of a community.

Does the focus always have to be on bars, bars, bars, bars, bars, bars and more bars?
