Intersection of E 21st St. & Woodruff Ave: SAFTEY?? (internship, safety)

I'll be staying in Flatbush for a little over two months this summer, close to the intersection of E 21st St. & Woodruff Avenue (3 minutes away from the Q line). It'll be for an internship, so I'll have 9-5 hours everyday and won't be staying out late at night. I'm a 20 year old female wondering what the area is like in terms of safety? Any info and advice would be appreciated!

This should give you an idea of how that area is... Anything by East 21st is not going to be good.
