This question is not worthy of it's own thread so I figured I would ask here, would you consider Avenue D and East 95th st to be East Flatbush or Brownsville?
Maybe - but I've been hearing the phrase more and more as a "neighborhood". I think it's mostly real estate agents trying to rebrand the area to gloss over the negative connotations
I've seen real estate agents start to use the sub-neighborhood names and play around with their borders. Listings south of Atlantic ave. are listed as Cypress Hills and listings around Linden Blvd. to Pennsylvania ave. listed as Cityline. I've even seen New Lots popping up. It's been happening in Flatbush as well.

Nice find - I guess "East Brooklyn" is an old name making a comeback? I've been hearing it a lot recently
Yeah the website, Forgotten New York, where that picture is posted also talks about the history of the old name East Brooklyn. It goes back to 1610 with the dutch immigrants farmland there, but that sign for the East Brooklyn Industrial Park is from the 1980's. From what I understand it was erected for a 70 acre area encompassing parts of Brownsville and East New York.

That sign has been there since I was a kid. It's at the border of ENY and Brownsville...I forget what street exactly its on...maybe Sheffield and Blake or Sheffield and Sutter...
