Currently just accepted an exceptional job offer down in Soho. I currently reside in the Bronx now and my son goes to school in the city. However, I am planning on buying a home and I am not to sure where I should purchase my home since I just got this job offer. The most important thing to me is the school system wherever I live and a pretty decent commute into the city. I know property taxes in NJ is pretty high.. open to suggestions.. Thank you.

How much house do you want? Would a condo do instead? How much can you pay? Are you a single Mom/Dad, or is there a spouse/partner to help out? And as for schools, what grade is your son?

Can't really make any suggestions without knowing that.

Default maspeth

Try Maspeth or ridgewood in queens. The l train isn't far from there and they have nice houses there. The l Train will take u right to the lower east side then you can catch the nqr or 5 and 6 going downtown easily.
