one of the benefits of being retired is we can go anywhere at anytime . a surprisingly warm day today was perfect for coney island even though most of the vendors were still closed
Amazing photos!! NYC offers such diverse ways to enjoy one's self. You should never be bored. Someone should make a stickey thread of 'things to do and eat' neighborhood edition. It is a great way for natives and none natives to learn about previously unknown/unexplored spots.
it is not a bad idea but the problem with sticky's is that if they are worth having they end up growing so long that they become useless to try to go through .
i have never been a fan of sticky's for photo's because the subject gets lost in the soup .
you can google from outside city data coney island as an example and eventually my photo's will come up and bring outsiders in to city data who have never been here .
my photo's have thousands of views from folks who found them from a google search and they end up in city data and many become posters themselves .
sticky's lose that ability as everything becomes one big pile of mush so if someone wanted to see photo's of a place before they went they can't find them that way .
before we go to a place i always google photo's others have taken so i can get an idea of what lenses or camera i may want to bring or even if it is worth us going .
i know we were going to go to teddy roosevelts home in long island but after googling the photo's it looked like there really was not much there we would want to photograph . .
yep , it was perfect yesterday even though the vendors were closed . heck , as long as nathan's was open that is all that mattered . i can't go to coney island and not get a hot dog and fry's .
my wife restricts me to only 1 hot dog and a regular size french fry since i am on a diabetic diet with no meds so i get the light lunch ha ha ha .
thanks , a lot of what my wife and i do is in the post processing where we can create a unique look and feel to each photograph .
in camera we shoot very boring and flat , even a bit washed out . we try to capture maximum signal so later we can play in processing and have very low noise .
Great pictures. I can't wait till the Brooklyn Cyclones start the 2016 season in June.
