Most apartments in NYC have a fire escape outside of one of the windows. On the fire escape
is a plaque that is well painted over many many times. It may not be readable due to the layers
of paint.
I am in need of one of those plaques. Actually I could use 5 of them.
They are easily removed with a hack saw. There is a strap behind the plaque that holds it across
the vertical bars of the fire escape.
If you are willing to take yours off I will pay for it and the shipping.

They say something about a "5 or 10 dollar fine if removed" or something to that effect. We have them on our fire escapes and they have been painted over a billion times, but depending on the way the sun is shining you can make it out.

You got it. There is an underground operation going on and they are going to use those plaques as proof of membership to their organization.
I wouldnt want any one to steal it. Ask the super or landlord if they would mind grabbing one.
They are obsolete.
