When I lived in Manhattan my favorite thing to do in the snow was to stay inside and watch it fall from the window, and also invite friends over and drink. I realize that this probably doesn't answer your question though. If you're looking for something to do in the snow, maybe go to Central Park. It's really beautiful in the snow. You can get a lot of great photos.
Or you could go ice skating. Ice skating in the snow does kind of add to the experience.
Or if it's a blizzard, go out! Some of my best nights I've ever had have been during blizzards. Something about partying during a blizzard is a lot of fun.
I'm weird. A little bit of snow makes me want to stay inside. But a big ****ing blizzard makes me want to go out.
As for rainy days: **** rain. Rainy days just plain suck
Snow: Put on my snow gear and walk to a nearby bar. Then I drink with all the other locals while we watch the snow fall onto the streets and cars. I love how snow, especially a lot of snow makes the city super quiet.
Enjoy the snow while its still white. By the following morning it'll all be brown slush.
