Former New York City Councilman Sal Albanese has been running for mayor since 1997. He has not been elected to office since 1993. He was term-limited in the City Council, and since then, has ran for mayor in 2013, but he has been little known. Albanese is from the conservative Bay Ridge, Bensonhurst area. Can he surge in the September primary?

No, we need a candidate that challenges De Blasio from the left not the right. De Blasio's main downfall is his pandering to wall street and the real estate developers. That is what has landed him in court. We need a Bernie Sanders style candidate to build on the progess he has made; universal pre-K, ending stop and frisk, and sanctuary city status.
