A huge chunk of Third Avenue between 73rd and 74th has just sold and is going to be redeveloped into luxury condos. For those that know the area JG Mellon is on the corner (but will remain), however Francois Payard Patisseries next door was bought out. Indeed it was seeing that the latter packed up and closed so soon after opening put the idea in my mind something was "up".

Mentioned in another thread that all those remaining low rise tenement buildings along Third, Second or First avenues near SAS subway stations wouldn't be long for this world. Amiright?
P.S. IIRC this same group of developers also have purchased several low rise buildings on Second near the SAS 72nd street station.
