Late November I received a letter inviting me to an interview at 605 west 42nd street on DEC 12th 2016 log number 13,220 !! I had three weeks to prepare & I did !! I gave them all my documents & waited to be called...everything was fine except for my last paystub which reflected my one day off...when calculated it brought my yearly income under a little and she immediately informed me that I would have to appeal !! I asked her to please let me get a letter from my job over explaining and she assured me not to worry and gave me a card with a number to call. I left feeling disappointed and called the number she gave me to explain. I'm not sure who I spoke to but they told me to expect the denial letter explaining what I already knew and to respond immediately and management will take about 10 weeks to respond !! It came a week later and I sent back everything with my new paystub attactched. I'm still waiting to hear from them I'm at week 7...does anyone know why it's taking exactly 10 weeks I understand there are people ahead of me, and has anyone beat their appeal ??

There's a huge thread on this building, and you've got to be patient. This building is rumored to have received over a half million applicants, which probably explains the 10 week response estimation time

I'll look for the thread and my interviewer explained to me that although they received so many applications...not everyone was allowed to be called back, the computer only selected a certain amount of applicants, and that a lot of people didn't even appeal.

I beat an appeal for 555ten. I had 2 things on my credit that totaled $600 and i was told i wold get a denail letter and to pay off those balances or at least get them to under $400 and to supply proof. I paid both in full, provided proof with an answer letter to my appeal and waited weeks. Got a call saying that my application is approved now and now i'm awaiting HPD to approve my package. So long as you follow the steps and you can prove that you qualify you should be ok.

Also i work as a housing specialist in a homeless shelter. One of my clients just signed lease for this building yesterday as she was selected as part of the 80/20 program and got selected luckily. She was even given section 8 and her rent will only be $400 a month. Thankfully tho she works fulltime, attends school part time and has 3 children who are doing extremely well and excelling in school. The apartments are beautiful!! and she lives on the P line which faces out front towards 42nd st and can even see the pool from her window. She has a HUGE 2 bedroom with 2 bathrooms and she's scheduled to move in tomorrow.
