This guy has his head in the sand, while I dont support wide spread stop and frisk there is proof that it greatly led to the safety we see in NYC today. Under this guy we may loose some of the safety gained under Rudy.

"Then, New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio in a November speech said he would ignore a hypothetical order to be more aggressive in carrying out the tactic.

“If the Justice Department orders local police to resume stop-and-frisk, we will not comply,” de Blasio said".

Of course he's not pro-criminal, but he is appalling soft on crime.

There is NO connection between stop-and-frisk and crime rates in New York City. None at all, desptie what Donald Trump, Fox News, and some ill-informed posters on this site would want you to believe. Check out the numbers in the graphs of the bottom of this story and you'l see that it's true:

https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/...=.9ef052e83d9e

But somehow there are still folks who believe that the best interest of justice are served by randomly harassing black and brown people with no cause.

Furthermore, stop-and-frisk is still permitted in New York City. The circumstances are more proscribed. The cops must be more careful and reasoned in their approach. But the practice still exists.

Questionable practice in the past led to an arrest in one high-profile crime. Good that they got the guy. But that doesn't justify reverting to a discredited way of crime-fighting when the numbers show no correlation between stop-and-frisk and the city's falling crime rates.

Smart post.

Pro criminal. What a ridiculous thing to say about a mayor of a city.

I still think De-Blasio is anti-police.
