Bareburger. So far I've only been to the one in Astoria.
I've been to the one on Court St in Brooklyn and though it was amazing.
I like Five Guys but only go there once in awhile. I usually get a Bacon Cheeseburger with fries and a drink and it costs nearly $17. I only go when I feel my wallet is fat. The Whitestone location is my favorite.

I boycott any business that advertises "GMO free". Anyone who contributes to the dangerous uneducated hysteria against GMOs doesn't deserve any business
There is no chain restaurant that could remotely be termed a favorite for me. I did sometimes go to Popeye if they were having a special, though.
Why anyone would bother with national fast-food chains while living in NYC is beyond me.
Bareburger is a chain of 14 restaurants. Some are in NYC. If you like burgers, check it out sometime. Also Le Pain Quotidien is an excellent chain.
The great thing about NY is that there's something for everyone! If people like chain restaurants, they are free to go to them. If they don't, there are plenty of other options.
Have NEVER seen Asians or Middle Easterners in a Popeyes.
I saw Asians in a Popeye's in Chinatown the other day, it's not as rare as you think.
Also, I want to Popeye's sometimes in high school for lunch and an Asian guy was part of our group.
