This is interesting data. It speaks volumes about where the city is going and which neighborhoods are changing.

Where do you get JUST Stuytown?

You're looking only at the red and only at the combined risks. Dig deeper. Anything that is not black or grey is at risk.

If you see DOB permit risks, you see a lot of construction and renovation happening. That too is a sign.

No one lives on Governor's Island, and yet see it is shaded. Can take this map with a grain of salt.

That's why the navigation on the right is important. Governor's island received work permits, hence the rating.

The map is data. Data is as good as what is input into the database. Presupposing the data is accurate, then it shows different types of activity.

The interpretation of the data is up to the person. (Analytics is a big part of what I for a living.) So for example, if a website has a lot of hits, but a quick bounce rate, it's up to the interpretor to determine.... is the bounce rate high because the person found exactly what they want and need not go farther, or is the bounce rate high because the results are completely irrelevant. In converse, when someone spends a lot of time on a site and hits a lot of pages, is it because they like the content and want to read more, or because or is it because they could not find what they need. (That's where time on each page can be telling, but only if you can capture the path of an individual user and see yes, 45 seconds on this page, 30 on this, 10 on that, 60 on this. Then you know they are actually reading the content.)

There is a lot of way to read data.

The data however, as above, is simply data, and up to you to determine what it means.

Cannot interpret data accurately if it is not correct. Have several buildings listed in the wrong area. Know of several buildings very well and can tell you the information is simply *wrong*.
