Their pricing is completely arbitrary. They give out promos and then rescind them if you downgrade. The promos run out and your stuck paying an arm and a leg. You can never get a straight answer on your bill. Time warner and optimum are the worst with this. They will tell you you'll pay $100 a month and then you get your bill and it's $140 and they claim "fees and taxes" these companies are absolute lowlife garbage
I am also paying the $70 for 100mps(free upgrade from 60mps according to Optimum). Since Optimum started charging $5 monthly for using their modem, I decided to buy my own $50 modem(according to the specs is actually faster) and I'm returning their old crappy one. So my bill will be $65 soon .

Where'd you buy your modem? I wanted to do the same so they sent me a link which has three compatible modems to order but they are like $150 which would mean I would only start reaping the benefits after 2 years time
