I haven't seen any dogs on the subway. I take the 7, the 1, the N. But then again, I'm usually staring at my iphone so unless the dog is barking or nudging my hand to pet him, I'd probably won't notice. But I have seen a greater number of dogs in stores/supermarkets and subsequent signs saying no dogs allowed.

I love dogs and every time that I see one on the subway, I love it. But recently, someone had a very tiny dog - probably teacup size, on a leash while waiting for the subway. The tiny puppy unleashed himself and started running towards the tracks and I had to interfere. It makes me sad when people don't properly take care of their pets. I think small dogs should be held or put in a bag made to carry small-sized pets while in the subway.

Some people are stretching the bounds of the "keep your dog in a carrier" rule. (Just search "Dog in IKEA bag" on google)

Get a smaller animal you can carry in your hand for that kind of support.

Emotional support animals are not allowed in "no dogs allowed" public spaces. That is only so you cannot be discriminated against for housing. People might get away with it in public spaces because other people do not know the rules.

But now anyone who can afford 500 a dollar sessions with a "Shrink" can get an emotional support animal here. wtf? I actually find this all abusive towards animals. It's also going to make people who TRULY need service animals more suspect, that's not right.

Abusive? You may not like it but I wouldn't claim an animal is being abused by this. Is it fed, cared for and loved? ESA's are not exactly service animals. You are judging people you don't know anything about. You don't know the mental health history of every person you see on the street. And quite frankly, it's none of your business.
