Hello all,
I've lived in Manhattan a very long time, and never needed a vehicle of my own. However, I now want to buy either a used van or a minivan, but don't know where to go.

I want to get something that's been well-cared for, but I want to spend as little as possible -- which means I am not interested in very late models. I don't mind a vehicle that's 10 or 20 years old if the mileage is relatively low, it has minimal or no rust, and everything's in good shape. A clean cargo or utility van is fine - it doesn't have to be all carpeted and cushy seats inside.

So~

Any suggestions on where to look? It doesn't need to be IN the city, I'd be willing to take a train or bus to go far outside of the city to find a reputable place.

Has anyone had experience with Van Vans Vans up in Blauvelt?

Also looking for recommendations for good, knowledgeable mechanics who know their stuff and are willing to go check out a vehicle with someone. You can PM me with names & numbers if you shouldn't post them publicly.

Thanks!

Nobody has any recommendations? I know there are people in NYC who do purchase vehicles! Should I ask to move this to the NYS forum or a non-regional one?
