Roosevelt Island is part of Manhattan, so they say they live in the city too?

Are you a native?

30 years ago isn't enough to qualify something as "not new"?

I've got a Walkman I can sell you for $200, if you're into the latest tech.

ummm you seems to confuse quantity with quality.
i know people in the Bronx that have lived there for 40 years and dont know downtown for example.
you can "learn" NYC a lot in 10 years, some people are born here and never get to know it.

If I'm upstate I say I'm from "the city." If I'm in Manhattan I say I'm from Queens.
