How do the native New Yorkers feel about those trust fund babies who come to New York and try to be one of them, but fail?

There is a difference between a real Brooklynite who have families in the area for generations, and the hipster living on Daddy's money coming from the middle of nowhere in Ohio who come to New York and call themselves New Yorkers.

I don’t mind at all. NY is for everyone, that’s what makes it so great.

What annoys me are those ex NYers who move to the middle of nowhere and use every opportunity to talk about how much they don’t miss NY.

A lot of hipsters are native New Yorkers. A lot of native New Yorkers were born into wealthy families, as well.

I have no feeling about it at all. As long as they dont distract my life, welcome to NYC. But if you cause problem in my life, I dont care if you native new yorker or not, we got a problem. So, do your stuff and move on, just dont get in my way, and we're good.

As long as they come here and contribute and don't think of themselves as being superior cause they are from this place or that place there's no reason to be against it. People move to different states all the time.

Fine with me. Although some might consider me a transplant (1970,) I do not, since I have lived here more than half my life.

I don't know why people think Hipsters are wealthy. I've seen so many of them become homeless it's not even funny. These types become homeless by choice.

I would consider a pleasent, positive, hard working, transplant living with roommates in Harlem more of a New Yorker than a native Staten island tottenville hermit. Or someone who comstantly complains about how terrrible is is here.
