This is NOT good for SNAP recipients. They have the right to fresh fruits and veggies. One minute y’all are bitching because according to you, all people who are on food stamps buy junk food, now you’re on here bitching that they don’t deserve fresh produce. What gives? Do you secretly wish you had food stamps? Be real here

Most major supermarkets take SNAP and they sell fresh fruits and vegetables at similar prices. Farmers markets are not the only source. This isn't really a big deal from a customer's perspective if they only care about getting non processed food.

Uh no, I have too much pride to walk into a supermarket and use food stamps. Maybe if people lived within in their means they wouldn't need food stamps? A lot of the so called poor people are walking around with food stamps and they get out of fancy cars and what not and I'm thinking but you just walked into the supermarket with food stamps!!

In the hood, a lot of supermarkets do NOT have fresh quality produce, which is why there’s been a outcry from the community and city council for farmers markets and green market carts to come to the area

Well I'm sure these people use the subway for this that and the other. A good supermarket is just a subway ride away. If you really want good food, you'l sacrifice. I go regularly to TriBeCa to Whole Foods because the one on the UES has crappy old produce.
I'm not sure why people would be against SNAP recipients using benefits on fresh product from a farmers market. I doubt allowing transaction from mobile devices is a big expense. This seems petty.

What is the big deal?
Supermarkets including some very upscale ones like TJ's (IIRC) sell a wide array of fresh produce. Why are you creating such a fuss? It's not like there aren't other options out there for these people.
