Sewage pipes/drains anyone? If it's not owned by the MTA, you better believe they're not gonna do ****, no pun intended, about it.

The 125th Street A/B/C/D station has a REALLY funky smell. I can't identify it (kinda smells like rotting fish, maybe?), but it never EVER goes away.

Bleah .....

Yeah I agree about 149th Grand Concourse and 59th and Lexington. They smell like sewage. The 4 train towards the end smells like hot ass at times.

The cleaning staff at the Woodlawn station of the 4 basically don't clean the trains. You're lucky if they remove all of the big pieces of litter from the floor.

They just about NEVER properly mop down the trains. The usual routine is to pretend like they are going to mop the train, go in, mop an area of maybe 10 sq feet and then go back to hanging out on the platform.

I agree. If they decide to raise up the fares for the subway...at least they could provide better service and cleaner stations!

.....and why can't they fix the stations where the screeching sound when the train stops is painful, even if you cover your ears. Like the south ferry station. I am surprised they have not been sued by someone with eardrum damage from that station.

I don't know if it's just me, but when the subway zooms by you when it's stopping, it smells of urine really bad. Every train/station I notice it.

do the rats ever die on the tracks? maybe the smell is from that? i think the grossest sight i ever saw was at 168th street--i saw a bunch of rats coming in and out of underneath a service door by the staircase--could you imagine anyone who had to to unlock that door to go in there?
